Job Summary

The Assistant/Associate Director for Residence Life Operations is responsible for overseeing the implementation of various processes and procedures that foster a welcoming, educational, and safe environment for students to live and learn.

This role involves building relationships with diverse stakeholders, engaging in collaborative efforts, and working to establish policies and improve systems that enhance the residential student experience.

The Associate Director must be able to navigate complex database systems, communicate effectively, and interpret data to inform decision-making.

This position requires the incumbent to live on-campus, participate in a 24-hour duty rotation, and contribute to division and College-wide committees and initiatives.

Occasional night and weekend work is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key resource for staff and departments relating to housing processes
  • Supervise area coordinators and provide administrative support
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and development plan for professional staff
  • Collaborate with department staff to implement a comprehensive outreach, recruitment, selection, training, and development plan for student staff
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and support residential students through crisis and emergency situations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience working with higher education software, such as Starrez, Banner, and Maxient
  • Strong administrative, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of residence life operations and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
