Job Summary

We are seeking a Caregiver/Direct Support Professional to join our team at Sevita. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness, and behavioral challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care and support to our participants, enabling them to live a full and independent life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Participants with Daily Living Activities: Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other daily living tasks to promote independence and well-being.
  • Encourage Participation in Community Activities: Support participants in engaging in their favorite activities, such as hobbies, sports, or social events, to promote socialization and community integration.
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Work with participants and their support teams to develop and implement individualized plans that promote growth, learning, and independence.
  • Provide Emotional Support and Stability: Offer emotional support and stability to participants, helping them to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with Support Teams: Work closely with other support teams, including family members, healthcare professionals, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive support and care for participants.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: No experience required, but a background in healthcare, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, adaptability, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible.
