Unit Mission: The programs in Rheumatology and Allergy/Immunology at the Commonwealth of Virginia are recognized as some of the pioneering clinical initiatives in the nation. This division integrates both Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology, striving to enhance the health outcomes for individuals suffering from autoimmune, musculoskeletal, allergic, mast cell, eosinophil, and primary immune deficiency disorders through comprehensive clinical care, innovative research, and community service, including philanthropic efforts.

Key Responsibilities of the Role: The Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology is in search of a dedicated full-time Adult Allergy and Immunology Physician to engage in clinical practice, educational activities, and research initiatives. The selected candidate will contribute to the advancement of patient care, research, and educational objectives of the division through direct clinical engagement and the mentorship of residents, medical students, and other trainees.

Role Duties:

Clinical | Deliver exceptional patient care in Adult Allergy and Immunology, focusing on specific areas of expertise in outpatient environments. Actively engage in the management of patients within the Adult Allergy and Immunology consult service.

Teaching | Oversee and mentor residents, fellows, and other learners in a supportive educational atmosphere.

Research | Participate in departmental research projects and is encouraged to explore new research avenues and seek funding for innovative studies.

Service | Contribute to departmental, health system, and university committees as assigned by the Division Chair to further the clinical, research, or educational missions.

Administrative | Ensure compliance with billing, documentation, credentialing, and other administrative responsibilities of the department in a timely manner.

Essential Qualifications:
Board certification in Allergy, Immunology, and Internal Medicine Proven scholarly and clinical competencies through patient care, teaching, and clinical research Experience in promoting and supporting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member
