Job Summary:

Soliant Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to support the occupational therapy needs of preschool-aged students in a school district near Palm Desert, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in conducting comprehensive assessments for preschool-aged children, including evaluating their physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, focusing on developing skills and strategies to enhance students' daily living and educational experiences.
  • Work directly with students to carry out therapy activities and exercises as prescribed, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' developmental and educational goals, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing updates to the Occupational Therapist and contributing to the development of effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student progress and needs, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Provide support to teachers and staff in integrating occupational therapy strategies into the classroom environment, promoting a inclusive and supportive learning space.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Valid California Occupational Therapist Assistant license.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team, prioritizing student needs and outcomes.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
