Job Summary

This position is located in the Office of Litigation Support, Executive Office, Environment and Natural Resources Division. The Division handles environmental and natural resources litigation on behalf of the United States. The Office supports the Division by providing automated litigation support services, overseeing contract support services, and providing guidance to trial attorneys and support staff on best practices in all phases of litigation, including discovery and trial.

Responsibilities
  • Assist staff members with trial support, including preparing exhibits and ensuring all technical needs of the case team are met at trial.
  • Assist forensics examiners with maintaining inventory of media/data received from agencies and opposing parties for cases.
  • Manage external media (thumb drives, hard drives) inventory, including overseeing the purchase of media, tracking to whom media is allocated, and forensically preparing returned drives to inventory.
  • Assist with the production of administrative records for client agencies.
  • Assist with downloading and providing data to case teams.
  • Allocate temporary software licenses to client agency technical staff for the forensic collection of data for cases.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Recent graduates must have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associate, bachelor, master, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
  • Must have completed your degree, certificate, or program on or before the end of the current semester.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-5 Federal grade level providing legal support or assistance on administrative programs, ensuring that documents are prepared in accordance with established organizational procedures, and using computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) to analyze and compile information to produce documents relevant to an organization.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) or one year of graduate education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work.
