Highway Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Highway Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our state's roadways.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, and mowers, to maintain roadways and right-of-ways.
- Perform manual labor tasks, such as lifting, bending, and stooping, to install and remove signs, fences, and guardrails.
- Apply various surfacing materials, including concrete and bituminous patching, to repair and maintain roadways.
- Control traffic through and around construction and maintenance projects, using established safety procedures.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, and perform routine repairs as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to safely move, drag, and lift 35 pounds frequently, up to 60 pounds occasionally, and 90 or more pounds infrequently.
- Must be able to work in outdoor temperature extremes and around high-speed traffic.
