The Applicator is responsible for the safe and legal application of plant protection and fertilizer products to a wide range of crops and sites. This role requires a strong understanding of agricultural products, crop management, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Calculate product and carrier quantities, properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment.
- Accurately locate application site and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduled, and maintain a clean DMV record.
- Perform necessary maintenance and repair on equipment, and assist as needed around the plant.
- Properly handle and store all chemical containers, and ensure that equipment is repaired or serviced in order to avoid delays in equipment availability.
- Must be familiar with all laws and regulations governing pesticide application.
- Must possess or obtain a commercial driver's license with endorsements for Haz-Mat and Tank vehicles.
- Must comprehend basic measurements and calculations for calibration (gallons per acre, and acres per tank).
- Must have working knowledge of all application equipment.
- Must possess or obtain the Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attend all required safety training meetings.
This position is eligible for competitive hourly wage, extra pay on overtime, and a spray acre bonus for applicating. Wages and bonuses may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
