Project Engineer

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Project Engineer to join our team, with a focus on overseeing capital projects at our Norco site. This position involves coordinating with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical engineering background, project management experience, and the ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
- Translate business objectives into capital project goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Manage all project phases, from initiation through closure.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliverables.
- Oversee 3rd party engineering and construction contractors.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Allocate resources effectively to support project teams.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement contingency plans as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct quality audits and reviews to maintain deliverable standards.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate regularly with senior management, project teams, and external partners.
- Provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and progress reports.
- Present detailed reports on project status and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or petrochemical environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with C-suite stakeholders and field personnel.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from thousands to millions in value.
Experience with brownfield and maintenance site integrity upgrades is preferred.
Familiarity with PNIDs, various project drawings, and project controls functions.
Required certifications: TWIC, OSHA, and SHAC - 08G.
Flexible schedule, with four in-office days per week.
