Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data.
- Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate radiographic procedures, including the preparation and administration of contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform patient assessments and provide patient care, evaluating the appropriateness of examinations and assessing the quality of radiographic images.
- Ensure that patient demographic, emulsion markers, and examination requests are correct, critique, orient, and save all pertinent images, transmit QA-ed images to PACS, and document completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in RIS.
- Conduct work in a timely manner, perform quality radiographic images on a consistent and ongoing basis, analyze requests and draw appropriate conclusions for examination and action plan, review radiographic orders and images, and correlate patient demographic information to ensure accuracy.
- Verify patient identity, obtain patient history relevant to examination orders, verify pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation, assess patients' physical condition, and develop an action plan for performing examinations.
- Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- No prior experience required.
- Knowledgeable of radiation protection and safety, general and electrical safety, infection control, TB, and standard precautions.
This position is employed by UNC Physicians Group Practices II, LLC, a private, for-profit subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. UNC Health is an integrated healthcare system owned by the state of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill.
