Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to fill a Travel RN position in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and possess strong critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in a PCU setting, utilizing critical thinking skills to assess and manage patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs, lab results, and medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU or critical care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips.
- Experience with bipaps, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems.
- Experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath care.
- Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes.
- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred.
- Peripheral IV skills required.
