Job Summary

The Supervisor Pathologist Assistant oversees operations in critical areas of the anatomic pathology, including specimen receipt, gross room, autopsy, and biobanking activities. This role involves overseeing and participating in all aspects of the work, including frozen sections, grossing, autopsies, and leading the teaching of pathology residents and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Quality Assurance
    • Leads and participates in quality improvement projects
    • Maintains QC and QA data
    • Ensures accreditation readiness
  • Education and Training
    • Leads teaching of pathology residents and students
  • Operational Management
    • Oversees operations in critical areas of the anatomic pathology
    • Ensures efficient and effective workflow
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with 26 science credits
    • Master of Science or Master of Health Science Degree from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists Assistant program (Preferred)
  • Experience
    • 4 Years experience working as a non-certified pathologist assistant in a cancer center laboratory, high volume private practice/community hospital, or academic medical center
    • 2 Years experience as a certified pathologist assistant (Preferred)
