The part-time Creative Arts Educator will lead classes for our Heart Artists, fostering their artistic aspirations and personal development. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for self-direction and creative input. As part of a vibrant and innovative team, you will work in a dynamic art studio and engage with the community. Your contributions will significantly influence the growth of both the program and the artists involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of the Artists, focusing on themed projects and specific mediums. These plans should accommodate varying skill levels and align with the goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISP) or communicated by their support team.
- Share your specialized artistic skills to teach fundamental strategies, including composition, professional presentation, and self-promotion, while nurturing the artistic potential of each participant.
- Monitor and ensure the health and safety of the individuals. You may be required to administer medications following appropriate training. Any changes in health or behavior should be reported to the relevant staff to maintain the overall wellbeing of the individuals.
A background in Art or Art Instruction is preferred, although other relevant experience may be considered.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $14.50 per hour

- 8-hour shifts
- Day shifts
- In-person
- Art Instruction: 1 year
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and autism: 1 year
