Landscape Architect

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Landscape Architect with a passion for creating sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, from residential and commercial developments to public spaces and environmental planning. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, planners, and environmental professionals to deliver innovative solutions that integrate stormwater management, land development, and infrastructure design.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in landscape design, have strong technical skills, and possess a deep understanding of zoning requirements, erosion control practices, and environmental considerations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Create innovative landscape plans for a variety of projects including commercial, residential, and public developments.
  • Sustainable Solutions: Work closely with engineering teams to integrate landscape elements into stormwater management, erosion control, and land development plans.
  • Master Planning: Assist in the preparation of large-scale master plans, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and local zoning codes.
  • Zoning & Permitting: Prepare documentation and exhibits for zoning variances, special exceptions, and conditional use applications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and planners to ensure cohesive project delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the correct implementation of landscape features during construction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in landscape architecture, particularly in stormwater management, site development, or similar fields.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other landscape design software. Experience with GIS and hydrologic modeling tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of landscape design principles, stormwater management, and zoning laws.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution. Licensure is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with land development plans, stormwater management plans, and municipal reviews.
  • Familiarity with highway occupancy permits, floodplain delineation studies, and subdivision plans is advantageous.
