Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Generac Power Systems. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on production and building equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance on production and building equipment, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment breakdowns, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct hands-on training for team members on maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Assist in designing, fabricating, and welding of mechanical structures, guards, and special equipment as required.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and engineers on projects, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and implement improvements to existing equipment and processes, enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Requirements
  • A technical or associate's degree in a maintenance-related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment, with a strong background in robotics, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Preferred experience on equipment and automation consistent with a metal fabrication, paint, and assembly operation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with the maintenance team and other stakeholders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues, and systematically work toward resolution.
  • Working knowledge of PLC hardware and programming systems, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues, and systematically work toward resolution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of codes and regulations as they apply to an industrial maintenance role (OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO, NEC, etc.).
  • Welding experience is a plus.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
