Senior Maintenance Technician for Field Operations

Overview:
The Senior Maintenance Technician for Field Operations plays a crucial role within the Tech Services support team, focusing on the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems, automation technologies, and various industrial machinery utilized in oil and gas drilling activities. This position requires travel to field locations to conduct a wide range of service and maintenance tasks related to controls and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on drilling control systems and rig-based technologies.
- Execute inspections, services, and repairs on both new and existing drilling rig control systems.
- Independently navigate and update software and firmware on various PLCs, routers, and other control components.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical and control systems both remotely and on-site.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians on drilling rig equipment and control systems.
- Conduct complex repairs on automation systems and ensure proper testing and diagnostics of electrical components.
- Collaborate with rig crews and third parties to oversee maintenance projects.
- Utilize data visualization tools for root cause analysis and issue monitoring.
- Maintain expert knowledge of industrial battery systems and power generation components.
- Facilitate the conversion of control systems on rigs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Extensive experience with electrical and control systems.
- Field maintenance experience in a related industry.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Environment:
This role requires adaptability to both indoor and outdoor work settings, often in challenging weather conditions typical of drilling operations.
