About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Repair Specialist to join our team at DriveTime. As a key member of our reconditioning center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough mechanical inspections of vehicles to identify and repair any issues, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and safety.
  • Collaboration with Management: Work closely with reconditioning center management to prioritize repairs, estimate costs, and make decisions on vehicle acceptance or rejection.
  • Advanced Automotive Repairs: Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks, including work on cooling, braking, charging, steering/suspension, AC, and electrical systems.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard, with a focus on minimizing re-work and delays in production.
  • Test Driving and Quality Assurance: Test drive repaired vehicles to verify that issues have been resolved and the vehicle is safe for sale.
  • Team Safety and Efficiency: Work in a way that minimizes the risk of injury to yourself or others in the shop, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in light to medium line work, with a strong background in brakes, engine, steering/suspension, cooling, A/C, and electrical systems.
  • ASE Certification: ASE certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Team Player: You will be working in a high-functioning team environment, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is required to ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard.
  • Timely and Reliable: You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, with a strong commitment to regular and predictable attendance.
