Job Summary
This role entails overseeing the management of base rates, fuel, and gas cost filings, along with various specialized regulatory projects. The successful candidate will maintain essential relationships with regulatory bodies and act as a primary technical advisor in regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise base rate and fuel recovery processes.
- Innovate initiatives aimed at enhancing the regulatory framework to support business growth.
- Foster strong working relationships with state management and key regulatory stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding rate-related issues and initiatives.
- Provide expertise in the interpretation and defense of operating tariffs.
- Draft tariff language for legal review.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on regulatory filings and initiatives.
- Prepare and present expert testimony in regulatory proceedings.
- Offer regulatory guidance and assist in the implementation of new initiatives.
- Work closely with Finance and Corporate Services to develop favorable rate case outcomes.
- Deliver technical regulatory support to various company functions.
- Manage special projects as assigned by leadership.
- Negotiate effective outcomes with external regulatory stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in state regulatory matters.
- Demonstrated success in negotiations with regulatory stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of ratemaking processes and company tariffs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in identifying and managing regulatory policy issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Capability to develop innovative regulatory strategies.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving results.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic and creative thinking abilities.
- Focus on customer needs, both internal and external.
- Knowledge and experience in rates and regulatory affairs.

- Master's Degree or J.D. is preferred.
