Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the genetics laboratory team, ensuring that all staff members are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure that all testing procedures meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the genetics laboratory is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including CLIA and CAP.
- Staff Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to staff members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between the genetics laboratory and other departments within the hospital, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up-to-date on laboratory operations and results.
- Education: PhD in Life Science relevant to Biochemical Genetics, e.g., Biochemistry, Genetics, etc.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, including administrative and managerial experience in technical activities.
- Certifications: Board certification or Active Candidacy by the American Board of Medical Genetics in Clinical Biochemical Genetics, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Cytogenetic, or Clinical Molecular Genetics.
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff members, physicians, and other stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
