Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Technologist to join our team at DMC University Laboratories, Inc. as a Group Leader, Med Technology Core Chemistry, Full Time Days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, processes and tests specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operational duties, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Acts as a resource to other laboratory personnel and provides direction to medical laboratory technicians and technologists.
  • Maintains a complete and up-to-date procedure manual and achieves ongoing compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Works in high-volume core laboratories, performing multiple duties and responsibilities as requested.
  • Completes other duties assigned by laboratory supervisor or director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent.
  • Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire).
  • Ability to perform all duties as required of a Medical Technologist.
  • Assists department management with corrective action and coaching of department employees.
  • Ensures department employees possess the ability and knowledge to provide age-appropriate care as mandated by DMC and department policies.

  • Coaching, teaching, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support.
  • Oversight of the maintenance, operation, cleanliness, and functioning of lab equipment and supplies.
  • Provides data collection and advanced data analysis.
