The Joint Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospital MD Psychiatrist Field Representative to join our team. As a key member of our accreditation team, you will be responsible for surveying healthcare organizations throughout the United States to ensure compliance with applicable standards and functionality of care delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities- Apply systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning skills to determine healthcare organizations' degree of compliance with applicable standards and functionality of care delivery systems.
- Engage healthcare organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards-based issues in healthcare to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improving compliance.
- Prepare management reports that clearly link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points.
- Effectively communicate this information to healthcare organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style.
- Participate in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor.
- Board-certified psychiatrist with current professional medical license in discipline and board certification required at time of hire and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment.
- Five years of experience working in various components of a hospital and healthcare system, including three years direct clinical experience and two years management experience.
- Knowledge of the Joint Commission accreditation process and Joint Commission standards with direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with strong interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to observe, in real time and without slowing or otherwise interrupting the progress of all applicable types of ongoing healthcare treatment.
- Standing for long periods of time, walking lengthy distances, lifting, climbing, stooping, pulling, and pushing to adequately inspect and observe all medical facilities, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to engage in extensive travel, including driving a car to remote locations, flying on small airplanes and into small airports, traveling in all types of weather conditions.
