Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/AWS Cloud Engineer/Functional Lead to enhance our existing technical team supporting the advancement of AI/ML/Data Science technologies in Herndon, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment.
- Develop and implement cloud security and compliance strategies.
- Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure with AWS.
- Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).
- Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
- Experience working with Login.gov sandbox environments.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
- Experience using a scripting language.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile software development principles and methodologies.

- Competitive salary range: $130,000 - $272,000.
