Job Summary:

Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/AWS Cloud Engineer/Functional Lead to enhance our existing technical team supporting the advancement of AI/ML/Data Science technologies in Herndon, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment.
  • Develop and implement cloud security and compliance strategies.
  • Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure with AWS.
  • Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).
  • Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
  • Experience working with Login.gov sandbox environments.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
  • Experience using a scripting language.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile software development principles and methodologies.
