Pharmacist - Prescription Medication Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at SpartanNash. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate compounding and dispensing of prescription medications. You will also provide exceptional patient care and medication management services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and fill prescription requests from customers and clinics in a timely and accurate manner.
- Dispense medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate retrieval, counting, pouring, weighing, mixing, packaging, and labeling of products.
- Provide medication counseling and advice to customers on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including use, dosage, drug interactions, and storage.
- Order, stock, and maintain inventory of pharmaceutical stock, including prescription and over-the-counter items.
- Lead and oversee pharmacy technicians and interns as needed to ensure efficient and accurate service is provided.
- Communicate with the Pharmacy Manager on any potential concerns or issues.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked department, ensuring compliance with Company standards.
- Stay up-to-date with legal regulations, industry trends, and best pharmacy practices, making recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field required; Doctorate degree in Pharmacy preferred.
- Three years of experience in a pharmaceutical department.
- Pharmacy License in good standing required in the state of operation.
- Immunization Certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, pharmacy laws, rules, and guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Good leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
- Successfully completes required continuing education hours and maintains Pharmacy License in good standing.

May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
