About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Modeler to join our Data team at Fidelity Investments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models that support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Design and implement data models for analytical, operational, and transactional platforms using AWS and/or on-premises services.
  • Work closely with product teams, data engineering teams, architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure data models meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain data modeling standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Assess the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models and maintain relevant documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data modeling, with a strong background in relational, dimensional, and/or analytic modeling.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Teradata.
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management, data modeling, and related tools such as Erwin or ER Studio.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
