Role Overview
HSBC Innovation Banking specializes in providing debt solutions to early-stage, high-growth, and publicly traded companies within the healthcare and life sciences industries. Our unique advantage lies in our global presence across more than 70 countries, coupled with a comprehensive banking platform that includes both investment and corporate banking services. We seek an individual who is deeply passionate about the healthcare sector and the innovation ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess experience in structuring and underwriting debt transactions, along with a strong interest in high-growth companies in healthtech, biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics, and tech-enabled healthcare services. As a vital member of a streamlined team, your primary responsibilities will include due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio management, as well as collaborating with internal partners regarding the debt portfolio of the Innovation Banking division.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture relationships with debt clients and potential prospects.
- Lead and manage the due diligence and deal structuring processes.
- Develop and maintain a robust portfolio management framework to ensure timely and precise reviews of financial performance for senior credit approvers.
- Engage in proactive portfolio management, focusing on maintaining credit quality and profitability targets.
- Stay informed about market, sector, and competitive trends while enhancing product and sector/sub-sector knowledge.
- Provide leadership within the team, offering coaching and mentorship to team members.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of HSBC's banking products and market dynamics.
Compensation
HSBC offers a competitive pay range between $175,000.00 and $250,000.00. The final fixed pay offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and various factors, including role responsibilities, skill set, experience, education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Our goal is to provide a competitive Total Reward Package that includes a balanced mix of fixed and variable pay as part of an employee's overall compensation and benefits. Variable pay typically consists of discretionary annual awards, often referred to as a 'bonus.'
