Position Overview:
CDR Companies, a prominent multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is in search of skilled Construction Inspection Specialists.

The Construction Inspection Specialist (CIS) plays a crucial role in collaborating with contractors, consultants, engineers, and job superintendents regarding plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methodologies, practices, and safety measures associated with construction and installation tasks.

The CIS is tasked with generating daily progress reports and maintaining schedules; reviewing shop drawings and contractor quotations for discrepancies; documenting quantities and costs of materials utilized; preparing periodic progress payment claims for contractors and recommending payments.


Key Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to contract documents by the contractor.

Verify compliance with the contractor's health and safety protocols.

Assess that delivered materials meet contract specifications.

Evaluate contractor's layout and confirm accuracy.

Compile and submit daily reports of work completed in line with CDR Companies' and Owner's standards.

Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Follow and relay instructions accurately.

Utilize computers and standard office equipment proficiently.

Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand.

Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Wear necessary personal protective equipment.

Respond to hazardous warnings and signals appropriately.

Occasionally perform manual labor tasks.

Occasionally work in challenging weather conditions.

Limited exposure to chemicals.

Additional Responsibilities:
Travel as necessary related to the above duties or as directed by the supervisor.

Maintain a positive attitude to foster competence and pride within the company.

Undertake other duties as required that align with the position.

Qualifications:


A high school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education is required, along with the ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic mathematical calculations for length, area, and volume.


Preferred Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction

NECEPT Bituminous Field Certification

ACI/PennDOT Concrete Field Technician Certification

PennDOT/PTC CDS Certification

Experience with ECMS

OSHA 10-Hour Certification
