Job Summary

Stanbridge University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational Nursing Clinical Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for building and maintaining clinical partner relationships, acquiring and managing clinical sites, and ensuring compliance with policies established by the clinical facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners to ensure a smooth and successful clinical experience for our students.
  • Identify and acquire new clinical sites to meet the needs of our program, while maintaining existing partnerships.
  • Manage and maintain clinical affiliation agreements and BVNPT applications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to attract new clinical partners and improve existing relationships.
  • Ensure the school's compliance with policies established by the clinical facility, including student health requirements and clinical site visits.
  • Orient and mentor new clinical faculty, providing guidance and support throughout their first 90 days of instruction.
  • Complete clinical faculty observations and evaluations, as well as routine site visits to ensure instructional compliance.
  • Perform lab check-ins to ensure course and institutional compliance, and oversee student clinical hour completion as it pertains to course requirements.
  • Work with the SS, instructor, and admin coordinator to arrange for student remediation events, and oversee faculty and student health requirements as it pertains to each clinical facility.
  • Provide clinical instruction as needed, and teach 1 clinical course per term or cover open clinical sessions based on department needs.
  • Required to substitute for clinical shifts as needed, and participate in department meetings and shared governance committees.
Requirements
  • Current and active California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
  • Previous work experience in a patient care setting, hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Up-to-Date Immunization Records.

Work Environment
  • Standard office, classroom, or clinical setting.
  • Typically, duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
  • An incumbent is subject to contact with others, frequent interruptions, noise from talking or office equipment and demanding timelines.
Physical Demands
  • The incumbent regularly sits for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties as assigned to the program or department.
  • Proficient in operating electronic keyboards and other office machines.
  • Effective verbal communication skills in answering telephones and providing information with clarity and distinctness.
  • Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision.
  • Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person.
  • Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing between 10-25 pounds as needed.
