Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our Hematology/Oncology Community Clinic, you will provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population, working collaboratively with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including physical examinations, administering medications, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Recognize and report abnormal laboratory values to physicians.
  • Utilize knowledge of symptomatology to identify common and life-threatening medical problems.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff, and other healthcare providers.
  • Perform CPR and other life-saving measures as needed.
  • Access and input data into computerized logging systems.
  • Travel to various Hematology/Oncology Community Clinic locations and be physically present at the job site.
  • Work various days/shifts, with flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the clinic.
Requirements
  • Active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
  • Active CPR BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 30 pounds or more.
  • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data into computerized logging systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance.
