Research Scientist with Molecular Biology Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a large colony of engineered mutant mice, overseeing research projects, and performing advanced molecular biology techniques.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires a Master's degree or equivalent experience in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in laboratory management, mouse breeding and genotyping, and molecular biology techniques such as qRT-PCR, Western Blot, and immunofluorescence.
Responsibilities- Manage a large colony of engineered mutant mice, including breeding schemes and genotyping by PCR
- Oversee research projects involving complex murine models, data analysis, and interpretation
- Design, perform, troubleshoot, and interpret cell cycle analysis, gene and protein expression analysis using advanced molecular biology techniques
- Derive tumor cell lines from in vivo models of cancer and isolate primary pancreatic and biliary ductal cell lines
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field. Experience in laboratory management, mouse breeding and genotyping, and molecular biology techniques is essential. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is required.
