Job Title: Finance Director

The Finance Director is a key member of the City of Frankfort's leadership team, responsible for providing financial guidance and oversight to ensure the city's financial stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with municipal accounting principles and practices.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the City Manager and Board of Commissioners to inform budgeting and financial decision-making.
  • Oversee the accounting system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll administration.
  • Manage and supervise staff in the Finance Department, including approving timesheets and preparing annual evaluations.
  • Ensure the proper payment of City payroll and overhead expenditures, and maintain a system of control to prevent expenditures from exceeding appropriations.
  • Invest city funds in accordance with city ordinances and policies, and oversee bi-weekly payroll.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and statements to the City Manager and Board of Commissioners, including quarterly Finance Committee meetings and annual Uniform Financial Information reports.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in finance administration, with experience in local government and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, or public administration, and a CPA certification is strongly preferred.
