Job Summary

Weigel's is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for researching and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with key vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate potential suppliers and contractors for new store development projects and other departmental initiatives.
  • Develop forecasts for materials and contractors for future development projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors, securing the best available pricing and terms while ensuring contract obligations and timelines are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering mutual beneficial partnerships between Weigel's and our vendors.
  • Ensure all products, materials, and contractors meet Weigel's high standards for quality and service.
  • Track, record, receive, and document orders and arrivals, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Understand and manage risk associated with procurement activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Exercise attention to detail and effective time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in experience.
  • Prior experience working with a government agency or utility is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with software programs such as Esri GIS, Energov, or Blueprint is not necessary but may be beneficial.
