Procurement Role Overview

Weigel's is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Procurement Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching suppliers, developing forecasts, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough research to identify potential suppliers and contractors for new store development projects and other initiatives within the department.2. Develop accurate forecasts for materials and contractors for future development projects.3. Effectively negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors to secure the best available pricing and terms.4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to promote mutually beneficial partnerships between organizations.5. Ensure all products, materials, and contractors meet Weigel's high standards.6. Track, record, receive, and document orders/arrivals in a timely and efficient manner.7. Stay up-to-date on risk management practices and ensure compliance within the department.8. Demonstrate attention to detail and effective time management skills.9. Possess adaptability to quickly adjust to changing circumstances.

Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent in experience. Prior experience working with a government agency or utility is preferred. Knowledge of software programs such as Esri GIS, Energov, and Blueprint is a plus.
