Job Summary:

As a Sports Medicine Outreach Coordinator with Covenant Health, you will play a vital role in providing athletic training services to area high schools as part of our community outreach program. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young athletes and contribute to the growth and development of our sports medicine program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Athletic Training Services: Deliver high-quality athletic training services to area high schools, including injury assessment, treatment, and prevention.
  • Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, athletic directors, and coaches to promote our sports medicine program and services.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatment, and prepare reports for school officials and insurance claims.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators to ensure seamless care and treatment.
  • Education and Training: Participate in annual education presentations to athletes and parents on sports injury prevention and care.
  • Concussion Management: Administer baseline and post-injury concussion testing, and follow return-to-play protocols in accordance with TN State law.
  • Program Development: Assist in the coordination of pre-participation health screenings, and work with clinicians to transition athletes back to play.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the growth and development of our sports medicine program.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: One (1) year of experience; new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Licensure: Must have and maintain Tennessee State licensure as an athletic trainer and Board of Certification (BOC) certification for the Athletic Trainer.
