Job Description

IMMI is a global leader in safety solutions, protecting millions of lives every day. As a Snr Product Engineer, you will design and develop new products or improve current products using engineering disciplines and tools. Your goal will be to produce products that meet IMMI targets for performance specifications, cost, and timing.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automotive steering wheel systems.
  • Provide guidance to designers and supporting engineers for designs, drawings, requisitions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal competencies to execute projects.
  • Support customers with technical information and initiatives.
  • Engage with suppliers and outside contractors to accomplish key outsourcing activities.
  • Develop and execute validation testing to qualify designs.
  • Oversee and manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize work.
  • Gain peer and management product insight through informal and formal design reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering field required.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of product design experience in automotive steering wheel design.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, DVP&R, and FMEA.
  • Proficient with 2D & 3D solid modeling design software, Solidworks preferred.
  • Injection molded part design experience required.
  • Die casting and Sheet Metal design experience required.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes.
