Academic Advisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The successful candidate will provide academic advising to undergraduate students, assist with course selection and registration, and provide information on university resources.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Advising: Provide academic advising to students, grounded in best practices and academic advising theories, to ensure students achieve their academic goals.
- Student Success: Monitor student progress, implement intervention strategies, and provide support to students who require assistance in maintaining or improving their academic standing.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with campus community members to enhance student retention initiatives and conduct research on topics within the field of academic advising.
- Additional Duties: Lead workshops, seminars, and other student engagement activities, and maintain a professional and cordial liaison with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Skills: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and spreadsheets, excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills, and ability to work as a team member and independently.
- Experience: Up to one year of experience advising students in higher education, experience with Banner, Argos, Starfish, and Degree Works, and demonstrated knowledge of developmental academic advising methodologies.
- Salary: $35,568 annually.

- Tuition Benefits: 100% tuition coverage for up to 18 credit hours per fiscal year.

- Time Off: 8+ hours of vacation paid time off every month, 8 hours of sick leave time off every month, 8 hours of paid time off for birthday leave, and 12-15 paid holidays each year.
