Job Summary

Kiewit Industrial Group is seeking a highly skilled Preconstruction Manager/Estimating Manager to lead estimates for vertical buildings in the Advanced Technology Facilities (ATF) markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of estimators, participating in win strategies, preparing conceptual estimates, and presenting estimates to executive management and clients.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. The Preconstruction Manager/Estimating Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of estimators to develop and implement estimates for various projects
  • Participating in win strategies to secure new business opportunities
  • Preparing conceptual estimates using historical and current market data and metrics
  • Presenting estimates to executive management and clients
  • Reading and interpreting documents, including drawings and specifications
  • Soliciting subcontractors and analyzing their proposals
  • Providing lowest cost design options for the lowest cost installation of construction
  • Value management and reviewing proposals
  • Supporting the selection of key subcontractors and trade partners

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, or other engineering disciplines
  • Ability to generate conceptual estimates for the Advanced Technology Facilities market
  • Ability to lead estimates and multiple teams
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Strong attention to detail; strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
