Job Title: Pipefitter, Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter, Maintenance to join our team at Vector CSP LLC. As a key member of our engineering and technical support team, you will provide critical services to the USCG Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install pipe systems, fittings, and valves in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Locate and mark pipe installations, connections, and passage holes in structures, using measuring instruments.
  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipes to specifications, using various tools and equipment.
  • Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, according to blueprints.
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications and building codes.
  • Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
  • Select pipe sizes, types, and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Direct helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components.
  • Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures, using hand or power tools.
  • Anchor steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
  • Modify, clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment, using hand or power tools.

Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years of experience, to include: installing or repairing water, steam, gas, or other types of pipes and pipefitting.
  • Completion of Pipefitter apprenticeship training program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices, including OSHA regulations and protocols for working with hazardous materials or electrical equipment.
  • Physical dexterity and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, maneuvering equipment, and working in confined spaces.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, with a focus on precision in installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system or equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for guiding installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Collaborative team player, following instructions from supervisors and working efficiently with colleagues to complete tasks.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of handling, storing, and transporting tools, equipment, and materials in compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing updates and following instructions accurately.
