Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Area Manager to lead our production team in achieving exceptional results. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, including projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and coordinate production activities to ensure timely delivery of products, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  2. Drive root cause problem-solving to address vendor, supplier, and customer issues related to quality and delivery.
  3. Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality, and safety standards.
  4. Ensure safety and accountability of team members in the assigned area, and implement countermeasures to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Scorecard requirements.
  5. Manage required documentation to meet Vermeer internal and external regulations.
  6. Encourage team member development and engagement, creating an environment for team members to learn and grow.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of manufacturing experience, or a minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing. Continuous improvement experience and understanding of lean principles are preferred.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead others in alignment with the Vermeer characteristics and behaviors. They will also have a demonstrated understanding of performance metrics, including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, and inventory.

Ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines, and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Understanding of equipment and machinery operation is also required.

Bilingual fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Travel and Work Location

Occasional travel is expected of this position. The work location is onsite at a Vermeer campus, with the possibility of occasional work at an offsite location.
