Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating communication disorders and administering therapy treatments for patients with problems associated with hearing, speech, and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate communication disorders and administer therapy treatments for patients with problems associated with hearing, speech, and language disorders.
  • Maintain records, monitor progress, and counsel patients and their family members.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary consultations.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and speech/language screenings for in-patients and out-patients, including discharge planning.
  • Document care and maintain records as required, including evaluations and treatments.
  • Prepare treatment plans and recommendations.
  • Screen and assess patients based on diagnosis and age to develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Discuss findings and collaborate with patients/family on the establishment of goals.
  • Develop programs to support performance in the home and community environment, monitor patient response to treatment, and change plans as needed.
  • Terminate services when maximum benefit is received and formulate follow-up plans when indicated.
  • Provide treatment utilizing Speech and Language Pathology modalities and techniques.
  • Take an active role in rehabilitation and departmental meetings.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State, and Current Clinical Competence - SPL (ASHA) Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
