Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Insights Partner for Oncology to play a vital role in the Oncology Commercial Organization at Sumitomo Pharma America (SMPA). The successful candidate will be responsible for generating highly actionable insights that inform commercial brand strategy through both qualitative and quantitative market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary data analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead market research and competitive intelligence for ORGOVYX, including planning, development, vendor selection, oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis, and interpretation of results to form actionable insights.
  • Collaborate and work closely with our alliance partner, Pfizer, to enhance marketing, sales, and market access offerings by developing insights from information, and translating insights to shape commercial strategy and decisions.
  • Manage vendor partnerships, including negotiating costs, on-boarding, ensuring accountability, and project execution.
  • Develop relevant and compelling presentations of insights for key stakeholders, including brand leadership, cross-functional partners, and senior management, while adapting communication style based on audience.
  • Prepare key deliverables, such as situation analysis and market assessments, to keep stakeholders informed and identify knowledge gaps to be addressed with future market research.
  • Lead the development of deep dive analytics, assimilating insights from multiple sources, both internal and external, to help provide a thorough understanding of brand performance.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and the related reporting needs of the organization, design and create reports for high-impact analytics to make data actionable and facilitate decision making for business partners.
  • Lead competitive intelligence information gathering, analyses, and communication for ORGOVYX.
  • Develop and prioritize key business questions with the cross-functional support of medical, clinical, brand teams, and other partners in the organization.
  • Build coverage plans and coordinate data collection and reporting for major conferences.
  • Seek out new information across disparate sources, such as media, financial filings, publications, clinical data presentations, competitive promotional materials, and other sources.
  • Prepare and send alerts and reports to communicate competitive developments.
  • Identify and highlight risks, challenges, and opportunities for ORGOVYX, recommend mitigation strategies and differentiation opportunities.
  • Organize and facilitate competitive workshops with cross-functional team members and internal and external partners.
Requirements
  • BS/BA with concentration in Life Sciences, Business, Public Health, or related field experience; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • 3+ years experience in market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary data analytics required.
  • Oncology experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging data and insights to inform marketing decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills and sense of teamwork and collaboration required.
  • Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to set priorities effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to partner across a broad group of internal and external partners.
  • Strong business skills to lead multiple project budgets, timelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Prior co-promote or alliance experience preferred.
