Kaiser Permanente is in search of a Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team.
Position OverviewThe Physical Therapist will be responsible for managing the physical therapy needs of patients, reporting directly to the Director, Assistant Director, and/or Clinical Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, interpreting examination results to assess the extent of dysfunction caused by medical issues, congenital conditions, or health-related challenges, aiming to restore their functional abilities.
- Develop individualized care plans that align with the patient's age, medical history, and specific dysfunctions.
- Administer or recommend therapeutic modalities and physical agents as part of treatment.
- Design and implement exercise programs tailored to the patient's needs.
- Exhibit professional expertise and clinical judgment in evaluating patients' conditions throughout the therapy process.
- Take necessary precautions based on the patient's age, medical background, and treatment type.
- Regularly reassess clinical indicators to evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust goals as needed.
- Deliver direct treatment to patients as outlined in their care plans.
- Coordinate with supportive personnel for delegated tasks related to patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in treatment planning and discharge processes.
- Engage in patient care rounds and case management discussions as appropriate.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families.
- Facilitate patient discharges from therapy services when skilled intervention is no longer required.
- Adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies, procedures, and relevant laws.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas and report any equipment malfunctions as per departmental protocols.
- Document therapy services accurately and in a timely manner, complying with state and federal regulations.
- Work alongside management to fulfill mandatory compliance obligations.
- Be prepared to support a diverse patient population based on local medical center needs.
- May assist in the clinical training of PT Assistants and PT Aides.
- Supervise PT assistants and aides effectively when tasks are delegated.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and uphold the Principles of Responsibility.
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy training program with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree.
- Physical Therapist License (California) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
- Ability to work within a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- If a PT License Applicant or PT Aide Letter recipient, must pass the licensing exam within 120 days from the letter date.
- Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
