Job Description:

This role requires a seasoned leader to oversee the strategic vision and operational leadership for the Program Management Office (PMO) within Denver Public Schools. As an Executive Director of Project Management, you will drive successful outcomes through oversight of major District initiatives, facilitate project prioritization, maintain and evolve the Project Management Methodology (PMM), support team growth and development, and source and manage contractors.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of IT, project management, and business/education industry experience, including 3+ years of senior leadership experience in managing multiple teams or projects. You should possess outstanding facilitation and communication skills, ability to inspire others, and superior leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.

About the Position:
  • Salary Range: $113,563 - $139,091

Responsibilities:
  1. Support project ideation phase with department leaders, facilitating engagement with technology subject matter experts.
  2. Facilitate the District project prioritization process, identifying needs for new solutions across teams, prioritizing projects, and managing an ongoing program roadmap.
  3. Ensure alignment of the Project Management Methodology (PMM) with the developing Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  4. Provide ongoing progress-monitoring visibility to District Senior Leadership, including progress against milestones, budget to actual information, risk tracking, and resource planning.
  5. Oversee a portion of the portfolio by coaching project managers, escalating/resolving significant issues, participating in Steering Committees, and engaging in vendor management.
  6. Facilitate effective communications throughout DPS, ensuring key stakeholders are kept up-to-date concerning any issues impacting project delivery.
