Job Overview

LOCATION: Sufco Mine


OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a proactive Trainer who will contribute positively to our operations, support the Behavior Based Safety initiative, and engage in training new employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel alongside new employees for hands-on training.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all mining and surface operations.
  • Design and deliver safety-related training programs, including New Hire Orientation, Hazard Awareness, and Annual Refresher Training.
  • Provide ongoing support to various teams and actively pursue continuous improvement of current projects.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
  • Exhibit patience and understanding when working with individuals.
  • Maintain a respectful approach in all work interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all management levels.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated team-building and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to resolve issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Required to have a demonstrated safe work history.
  • Ability to drive results and meet time-sensitive deadlines is essential.
  • Previous MSHA/Instructor training experience (blue card) or the ability to obtain is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MSHA standards and regulations is advantageous.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: This position reports to the Safety Manager.
