We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our CNC manufacturing team specializing in metals and polymers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CMM programming software and experience with complex technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write efficient CMM programs to inspect CNC-machined metal and polymer components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to create detailed inspection plans.
  • Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections on parts, ensuring they meet design specifications and tolerances.
  • Review and analyze CMM reports to identify product non-conformance and provide feedback to the quality control and production teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to troubleshoot dimensional issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure all CMM programs are properly documented, maintained, and updated to reflect changes in design or manufacturing processes.
  • Set up and calibrate CMM machines and associated measurement tools.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary inspection data and quality documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection processes, reducing waste, and improving overall quality.
  • Train quality control team members on the use of CMM equipment and software, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience desired.
  • 3 years of experience in CMM programming and operation, preferably in a CNC manufacturing environment with metals and polymers.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
  • Experience with manual and automated inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and accuracy in measurements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both metals and polymers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience working with high-precision, tight-tolerance parts.
