Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric ICU team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a RN Per Diem II, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, including administering medication, performing tests and procedures, and documenting patient information.
- Work within Hospitals and departmental policies, ensuring adherence to quality patient care standards.
- Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, enhancing professional growth and development through educational programs and workshops.
- Assist with emergency measures, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, and promote patient safety through proactive approaches.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year of directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- A nationally accredited nursing graduate degree.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification within 30 days.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. You will also be working in an environment with potential chemical and bio-hazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
