Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric ICU team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a RN Per Diem II, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, including medication administration and IV therapy.
  • Work within Hospitals and departmental policies, ensuring adherence to quality patient care standards.
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel, enhancing professional growth and development.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families, adhering to Hospitals standards.
Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • 1 year directly related experience
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days

Nonessential qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty
  • PALS
  • TNCC and/or ENPC
Working Conditions

This position requires:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
  • Significant Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials require PPE.
