We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric ICU team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a RN Per Diem II, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, including administering medication, performing tests and procedures, and documenting patient information.
- Work within Hospitals and departmental policies, ensuring adherence to quality patient care standards.
- Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, enhancing professional growth and development through educational programs and workshops.
- Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses in a timely manner.
- 1 year of directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification within 30 days.
This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Working conditions include exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
