About the Role

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in supporting the operating rooms with anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment. This includes preparing equipment for anesthesia in surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic anesthesia suites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist anesthesiologists and nursing staff with direct patient care duties, including patient transfers, preparation of patient equipment, intubations, and regional anesthesia.
  • Set up I.V. solutions, arterial lines, and equipment for anesthesiologists use.
  • Order daily anesthesia supplies from the storeroom and pharmacy, and replace special equipment as needed.
  • Conduct routine checks of emergency carts and anesthesia carts, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Participate in infection control through regular cleaning of anesthesia equipment and perform housekeeping duties to keep the anesthesia workroom neat and orderly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • One (1) year of related experience in Surgical Services, Operating Room, or PACU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree.
  • Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
