About the Role

Oak Street Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient flow efficiently, ensuring timely rooming and completion of vital signs, screenings, and medication reviews.
  • Inventory and stock exam rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Respond to patient requests for telephonic support, including lab results and faxing records to specialists.
  • Administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests, such as A1C, spirometry, and EKGs, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Import required documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
  • Process orders for durable medical equipment.
  • Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment checks, and expired medication and supply checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • State or national certification (as required by state) or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
  • 1 year of experience as a medical assistant.
  • CPR or BLS Certification.
  • Electronic Medical Record experience.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in multiple computer programs.
  • Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
  • US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years in a Medical Assistant role.
  • Successful mastery of the workflow in their previous MA position.
  • An appetite for expanded responsibilities, greater clinical experience, and a chance to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
