AHRC New York City is a leading provider of services for individuals with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team in Brooklyn.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing behavior support services, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment services as part of an interdisciplinary team. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop individualized behavior support plans based on functional assessments, ensuring adherence to required formats.
  • Implement and monitor effective behavioral data tracking systems, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training to staff on behavior treatment plans, behavioral health topics, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with families, medical providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate psychological care and behavioral programs.
  • Engage individuals in individual and/or group treatment as needed, promoting empowerment and skill development.
  • Assess and evaluate psychological needs to inform treatment planning and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records to support quality intervention and service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in psychology or a related field, with documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including creating, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing administrative tasks related to regulatory mandates and program operations.
  • A proven capacity to work productively in fast-paced environments, adapting to changing circumstances while maintaining a focus on excellence.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $53,000 - $68,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including low-cost medical insurance, paid time off, paid training, dental insurance, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, referral program, 403(b) retirement plan, company match, life insurance, employee discount, and health savings account.
