About the Job



The Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department. Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the MA is responsible for taking adult and pediatric basic vital signs, documenting information in the electronic health record, and performing other tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking patient vital signs, including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, and color vision
  • Drawing blood accurately
  • Documenting information in the electronic health record
  • Providing administrative support to the Ambulatory Services department
  • Interacting with patients, medical staff, and other departmental staff


Requirements



To be successful in this role, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and have current/valid Maryland Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Certification. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required, with 2+ years of experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills are also essential.
